Cards
Most major credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and resorts.
However, some retail stores, restaurants and bars may not accept
credit cards. Gasoline purchases are usually made with cash. It is
always best to inquire before making any purchases.
Languages
Spanish, but English is spoken in most areas and in all the major
hotels and most restaurants and bars.

Climate
It is not call a sun destination for nothing the climate is great
most of the time. Semi-tropical with an average temperature of 80
degrees Fahrenheit. Average daily maximum and minimum temperatures
for Cancún: January-March, 68-86°F; April-June, 71-89°F (22-32°C);
July-September, 75-91°F ; October-December, 68-87°F.

Declaration forms must be completed upon arrival.

Tax
Departure tax is approximately U.S.$40, except for passengers
under two years of age, who are exempt from the tax.
Churches
The religion is predominantly Roman Catholic although some of the
local population practices the Mayan religion. Several hotels
celebrate mass. Check with front desk at you hotel for information
on churches nearest you.
Documentation
U.S. citizens need a valid passport, a visa is not
necessary. Any person under 18 years of age is considered a minor. Very
strict regulations govern travel by minors into Mexico. If traveling with only one parent, the minor must have a
notarized letter of consent signed by the parent not traveling.
-If traveling with only one parent and the other parent is
deceased or the child has only one legal parent, a notarized
statement must be obtained as proof.
Tipping
Tipping is voluntary. Usually 10 to 15 percent is generally
acceptable at the restaurants. In some cases, a gratuity may be
added to your check. It may not be stated on the menu. This practice
varies with establishment. Be sure to ask before paying the bill.
One to two dollars are good for bell-boys and maids at the
hotels.

Exchange Facilities and Banking
US Dollars are very easily exchanged into pesos in banks, major
hotels, airports and exchange houses. Mexican banks are generally
open from 9 am to 2:30 pm weekdays only. Exchange houses are open
longer and offer quicker service. Most credit cards are accepted
in shops, hotels and travel agencies. Major purchases are best
made with a credit card. You automatically receive the bank rate
of exchange, which is higher than the rates given in town or at
the hotels.
Water
Potable water is readily available at many of the tourist
locations. Bottled drinking water is available throughout the
region and we recommend that is what you drink.

Hours
Most stores are open
from 10 am to 10 pm daily in the Hotel Zone. Stores downtown may
close between 2 pm and 4 pm for the traditional "siesta"
and on Sundays.
Medical
Facilities
Mexico has a very good nationalized healthcare system and almost
every town and city has either a national hospital or medical
clinic. Most hotel have a 24-hour doctor on call. No vaccinations
are need to enter Mexico from the US or Canada. Below is a list of
